Sports have always been more than just physical exercise. Mental well-being, community bonding, care for individuals with different abilities, and more are all things we want to remind people of through “Sports Date.”
In Time Of has partnered with various NGOs, sports groups and community organisations to take part in “Sports Date Warm-Up” event at The Mills, TKO Plaza and AIRSIDE, bringing sports, creativity, arts, mental well-being and social cohesion under one roof. In the January “Sports Date” at AIRSIDE, we have transformed the atrium into an indoor field featuring four creative sports games. Everyone is welcomed to come and play while learning about waste sorting and experiencing the daily lives of people with different capabilities.
The sports game “Wheelchair Basketball” at AIRSIDE Sports Date encourages the public to experience the daily life of wheelchair users and learn how to lend a helping hand to those in need in daily life.
The game lane simulates the width of pathways as required by government regulations (1,050 millimeters) and incorporates obstacles that mimics those commonly found on roads. During the game, there will be wheelchair users to provide guidance on how to correctly use a wheelchair. In addition, there are eight precious Hong Kong team jerseys loaned by collector Yihaozi on display.
Although “Sports Date” has come to a successful end, we hope that everyone can continue its spirit, using sports as a starting point to re-imagine everyday life!
